North Olympic Library System goes green

North Olympic Library System kicked off a new campaign encouraging users to “Go green! — switch to e-mail notices.”

Library customers who still are receiving notices through the U.S. mail are asked to switch to e-mail.

Library staff believes e-mail is the fastest way for customers to receive notice of held and overdue materials.

“E-mail notices are environmentally friendly and they reduce the library’s postage, copying and paper costs, allowing for a more efficient use of your tax dollars,” said Paula Barnes, libraries’ executive director.

To switch to e-mail notifications, call the Sequim Library at 683-1161 or Port Angeles at 417-8500, e-mail director@nols.org, or visit the Sequim Library at 630 N. Sequim Ave., and ask to “Go green.”
