Elizabeth Schwantor has joined Olympic Medical Center as associate legal counsel, OMC representatives announced last week.
Schwantor joins OMC with more than 10 years of legal experience practicing family law in Port Angeles.
Jennifer Burkhardt, OMC’s chief human resources officer and general counsel, said that “as the complexity and volume of health care regulatory and legal requirements have increased, OMC’s need for additional legal resources has become critical. With this in mind, we are excited to announce the addition of Elizabeth to Olympic Medical Center as associate legal counsel.”
After graduating from Port Angeles High School, Schwantor earned bachelor of arts degrees in English and political science from University of Washington. She went on to complete her juris doctor at the University of Idaho.
After graduating from law school, she returned to the Olympic Peninsula and opened a solo practice, focusing primarily on family law for the past 10 years. She a member of various legal associations, including the Washington Defender Association, Clallam County Bar Association and Washington Women Lawyers, and is a Clallam County Law Library trustee.
Schwantor joins a growing legal department at OMC made up of: Burkhardt; Candace Kathol, contracts manager and senior paralegal, and Jessica Madison, contracts/legal analyst paralegal. The team handles legal requirements of healthcare regulations and OMC’s contractual agreements.
