OMC adds physician to Olympic Medical Physicians team

Olympic Medical Center has added Dr. John Miller to the Olympic Medical Physicians primary care team, OMC representatives said last week.

Miller joins OMP after leading his own private family medicine practice in Mississippi, and he will see patients out of the OMP Primary Care Clinic in Port Angeles.

“I enjoy treating patients of all ages and backgrounds who are dealing with a scope of health conditions,” Miller said.

“I like being a primary care physician because it allows me to look after my patients at all points in the healthcare process, even when they are being seen by other specialists.”

Miller earned his undergraduate degree from William Carey University in Hattiesburg, Miss., before pursuing a law degree at Duke University School of Law in North Carolina. After earning his Juris Doctor and practicing and teaching law, he returned to Mississippi to attend the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine.

After completing a three-year residency in family medicine, he opened his family medicine practice before deciding to make a move to the Pacific Northwest.

“(Port Angeles) is one of the most beautiful towns I’ve ever visited,” he said, “and the longer I live here the more I see that the people here are some of the best people anywhere.”

Miller said he looks forward to treating families here on the peninsula.

“There is no greater privilege than being able to take care of a person’s health; in the same way, it is an honor to be able to make the community I live in a little healthier, too,” he said.
