One sent to hospital after truck swerves off Old Olympic Highway

A 40-year-old man was transported to Olympic Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries on July 8 after a Ford F-150 swerved off Old Olympic Highway and hit a tree, Clallam County Sheriff’s Deputy Matt Murphy said.

The driver swerved to avoid an approximately 6-foot-by-8-foot board of wood that fell off the bed of a white pickup truck and went airborne.

The front-seat passenger was briefly trapped in the vehicle, but emerged fully conscious, Murphy said.

The identities of the driver and passenger were not immediately available. They were likely traveling from out of the area, Murphy said.

The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office seeks information about the white pickup truck that lost the board. To contact dispatchers with information, call 417-2262.
