Organizers setting plans for Orca Recovery Day

Organizers of the annual Orca Recovery Day have volunteer opportunities and workshops for people interested in taking action for Puget Sound health in early October.

Events range from salmon habitat restoration to litter removal to educational trainings.

All ages are welcome; masks and COVID safety protocols will be followed according to state and county guidelines.

Details are still being finalized for the event set for Oct. 5-9. See clallamcd.org/orca-recovery-interest.

In three years, Orca Recovery Day has grown by more thab 160 groups, with more than 1,300 students engaging and 6,000 participants overall. It has drawn volunteers to plant over 27,700 trees and shrubs and remove over 59,000 pounds of litter from reaching or re-entering the Salish Sea for sustained collective stewardship.
