The results are in for bestschools.com’s “Top Ten Online Colleges in Washington State” and Peninsula College is ranked at No. 7.

According to the website, “Best School methodology” was used to evaluate the performance of 14 state schools by examining numbers and statistics.

“We also interviewed staff and faculty to learn about how strongly online education has been adopted, where the programs are heading in the future and what online students today can expect,” the website said.

Washington State University, Central Washington University and the University of Washington received the top three slots respectively.

Peninsula College offers a Bachelor of Science in Applied Management (BAS) online that enables graduates to apply directly to Master of Business Administration (MBA) and other graduate programs upon completion, go directly into the work force or prepare them for promotions. Other online courses include accounting and finance, computer applications, design and composition, language, art, writing and publishing.

In addition, many humanities courses that traditionally were taught face to face also offer online sections.

Bestschools.com is a New York-based site dedicated to evaluating and assessing the nation’s online colleges and universities and aims to serve as a guide for prospective students. The site was created, according to the webpage, to develop accurate ranking systems for higher education programs online.

“We compiled advice from program administrators, professors, instructional designers, career services experts and more,” the site reports. “Together, they tell the story of distance education, the cutting edge tools in use today and where the industry is going.”
