Cole Tamba, a high school senior from Port Angeles, recently was named 2015 Youth of the Year for Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula.

Tamba, a member of the Mount Olympus Boys & Girls Club in Port Angeles, competed against other Boys & Girls Club members for the Washington Youth of the Year title. Justice Lively of Skagit Valley Club took the top honor.

The Youth of the Year title, presented by Disney, is a prestigious honor bestowed upon an exemplary young person in recognition of leadership, service, academic excellence and dedication to live a healthy lifestyle. Tamba was recognized by the local clubs for his sound character, leadership skills and willingness to give back to the community.

Tamba has enlisted in the U.S. Army and hopes one day to return to the club as its unit director.
