Two people — one of them a Sequim resident — were injured in a single-car incident on Saturday, Nov. 29, near the U.S. Highway 101/State Route 104 interchange, about 12 miles south of Port Townsend.

According to a Washington State Patrol report, Douglas R. Marsh, 70, was driving a Suzuki SUV eastbound on Highway 104 when the vehicle left the roadway and went into a ditch.

Gloria J. Brown, 72, of Sequim, and Veronica L. Szikszoy, 53, of Pasadena, Calif., were both injured and transported to Jefferson Memorial Hospital, the state patrol reported. Marsh was uninjured.

The state patrol indicated the vehicle was traveling too fast for the road conditions.

Between 5 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday, there were 11 vehicle accidents in the Sequim area.

Residents from Sequim and the surrounding area reported at least 18 vehicle accidents or incidents between Nov. 24-29, according to Clallam County’s emergency dispatch system.
