PHOTO: Raffling for respite care

Quilt maker Dory Miller of Crazy Horse Quilting and 2020 Sequim Bay Yacht Club commodore Jerry Fine display a quilt up for raffle, with proceeds going to Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County. Tickets are $5 each or six for $25. Every dollar goes to the local nonprofit for hospice respite care, and ticket purchases are tax-deductible, fundraising organizers say. Raffle ticket sales run through Dec. 7 with the winning ticket drawn Dec. 9. For raffle tickets, send a check (made out to “VHOCC”) to: Judy Shanks, Judy Shanks, 450 North St., Sequim WA 98382. Include postal or email address to get a photo of tickets and record of ticket purchase. Since 1978, Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County has served the terminally ill and their families with physical, emotional and spiritual support at no charge. The yacht club has contributed about $385,000 to VHOCC for respite care in the past three decades. For more information, call 360-582-0253 or email to waquilt@aol.com.
