Point-In-Time homeless census training set

This year’s Point-In-Time Count of homeless people in Clallam County is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 29.

It will be combined with housing resource fairs in

Sequim, Port Angeles and Forks to connect homeless individuals and families with community resources to meet their housing needs.

A meeting for agencies and volunteers involved in the count is planned for Jan. 21 to make final plans and to train people in how to complete census forms in accordance with government specifications.

The federal Department of Housing and Urban Development uses results of the census to track homelessness and to determine grants to combat it.

The meeting is sponsored by the Shelter Providers Network of Clallam County and hosted by Serenity House.
