Superior Court
Joseph L. Clark – Clark, 29, Roy, was charged Oct. 20 with one count each of second-degree conspiracy to commit burglary, making false or misleading statements to a public servant, possession of a controlled substance and use of drug paraphernalia. According to court records, Clark and an accomplice, Matthew R. Ball, were planning to break into a Sequim business when they were arrested on outstanding warrants. Drugs and paraphernalia were found during the ensuing search of their car.
Matthew Richard Ball – Ball, 26, Tacoma, was charged Oct. 20 with one count each of conspiracy to commit second-degree burglary, making false or misleading statements to a public servant, possession of a controlled substance and use of drug paraphernalia.
According to court records, Ball and an accomplice, Joseph L. Clark, allegedly were planning to break into a Sequim business when they were arrested on outstanding warrants. Drugs and paraphernalia were found during the ensuing search of their car.
Maximillion Deak – Deak, 20, Sequim, had charges of second-degree arson, one count of minor in possession of alcohol and one count of contempt of court against him dismissed on Oct. 13. His case has been transferred to District Court. According to court records, Deak allegedly started fires near a Sequim business on July 31. He then ran from and fought with the police officer trying to arrest him during which the officer noticed he had been drinking and administered a portable breath test.
Loretta Edberg – Edberg, 36, Upland, Calif., had a bench warrant issued for arrest after she failed to appear for an Oct. 22 hearing. Two numbers provided for her to appear by telephone did not work. Edberg was arrested May 1 in Montclair, Calif., on investigation of custodial interference. Her suspected accomplice, Anthony Charles Buchanan, also was released. Christopher D. Hanning, 10, and Joshua N. Hanning, 13, were found with their mother in Montclair, Calif., and reunited with their father, Brian Hanning, on May 2.
Aaron Hahn’s murder solicitation trial will begin Oct. 26 in Clallam County Superior Court. It had been delayed once while a material witness was located then again when defense attorney Ralph Anderson became ill.
On May 27, 2008, while awaiting trial on child rape charge, Hahn was charged with solicitation of aggravated murder or solicitation of first-degree premeditated murder for allegedly attempting to hire someone to kill his reported victim.
Brian Jed Lee – Lee, 49, Sequim, was declared competent to stand trial at an Oct. 23 hearing. Lee was charged Sept. 9 with one count of third-degree assault. A trial date will be set on Oct. 30. According to court records, Lee allegedly assaulted an ambulance EMT on Sept. 8 while being treated.
Kenneth Eugene Lamb – Lamb, 34,
Sequim, was charged Oct. 22 with three counts of firearm theft, 10 counts of first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm and one count of manufacture of marijuana or any non-narcotic substance other than methamphetamine. According to court records, Lamb allegedly had been caught on April 1 and April 8 with numerous firearms, three of which were stolen and all of which violated his parole. He also was found to be producing marijuana.
Keith O. Weymiller – Weymiller, 25,
Sequim, was denied a motion to be declared not guilty by reason of insanity at an Oct. 22 hearing. He faces charges of second-degree assault and first-degree attempted rape.
Lovera Marjorie Blackcrow – Blackcrow, 29, Port Angeles, has an Oct. 28 hearing on a motion to dismiss. She was charged Aug. 17 with one count of vehicular homicide – DUI. According to court records, Blackcrow allegedly was driving her Ford Expedition under the influence of alcohol on Aug. 16 when she collided with a Harley-Davidson motorcycle at Dry Creek Road and Edgewood Drive in Port Angeles, resulting in the death of the motorcycle passenger Shelly Bartlett.
