Small dogs and their owners can rest easy rain or shine with another permanent shelter in place at the Sequim Dog Park in Carrie Blake Park.

The newest shelter, valued at about $1,300, was installed on Jan. 24 and spans between the small and one of two bigger dog areas.

Jim Fletcher, a board member with the Sequim Dog Park Pals, said the park’s annual fundraiser in the summer and several donors helped fund the project.

It’s the second structure in the park, with the first permanent structure between the two bigger dog areas.

The City of Sequim maintains the park’s lawns and volunteers fundraise for it and help install gravel and trim tree branches, Fletcher said.

Volunteers look to raise more money for benches in the near future. Learn more about the park by visiting sequimdogparks.org or facebook.com/sequimdogparkpals.
