Port Angeles’ History Tales features ‘Underground’ expert

Published 10:51 am Thursday, March 20, 2014

Don Perry will give an update on what’s new with the Port Angeles Underground tour at the Clallam County Historical Society’s History Tales lecture series at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 6, in the Port Angeles City Council Chambers, 321 East Fifth St.

Perry has been educating and entertaining residents and visitors to Port Angeles for the past 12 years. His popular Underground Tour highlights a part of the city’s history that is unknown to the casual downtown walker.

Perry’s enthusiasm for Port Angeles’ heritage helps to keep its history alive. He will show photographs of old Port Angeles as well as new stops on the tour.

Perry has lived in Port Angeles for 28 years and is active in the community. About 25 years ago he heard about some murals that were hidden away and has worked since then to save and share Port Angeles’ underground (and above ground) treasures.

History Tales is free and open to the public.
