Port Angeles man airlifted after rollover on Hwy 101 near Sequim

A 69-year-old Port Angeles man was injured in a single-vehicle roll-over on U.S. Highway 101 near Sequim Friday morning, the Washington State Patrol reports.

Siegrried Rombs was airlifted by Life Flight helicopter from Sequim to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after the incident that emergency personnel responded to at about 10:35 a.m. on May 14.

According to the State Patrol, Rombs’ vehicle was traveling eastbound on Highway 101 when it left the roadway and into the eastbound ditch, where it rolled and came to rest upside down.

The vehicle, whose make was not identified in the State Patrol memo, was totaled in the incident.

No other passengers were reported in the vehicle, nor were any others hurt, according to emergency personnel.

The highway was blocked for traffic in both directions.
