Port Hadlock home to fun run

The Rain Deer Run, a community 5K or one-mile fun run, is slated for a 10 a.m. start on Saturday, Dec. 10 on Indian Island. The run is open to the public. Register for the run by clicking here “Rain Deer Run”. Preregistration ends Dec. 8.

Entry fee is $20 with a T-shirt, or $14 without a T-shirt. For participants ages 16 and under, the fee is $14 with a T-shirt, and free without a T-shirt.

Registration will be available on the day of the run from 9-9:45 a.m.  On-site registration is an additional $2, cash only.

Beginning at 10 a.m., participants of all ages run and walk their way on a five-kilometer (3.1-mile) course along the roads on the southern part of Indian Island.

There also is a shorter one-mile course available, better for young children and participants with strollers or pets.

Participants will be able to enter the main gate at Indian Island at 9 a.m. Picture identification is required for entry and cameras will not be allowed on base.

Anyone registering on the day of the run should be at the main gate at 8:30 a.m. to allow additional time for the registration process.

Prizes are awarded to the winners of each men’s and women’s age division. Male and female overall winners will be honored separately.
