Public invited to “Barn Day” event at Olympic National Park on Saturday

Interested, experienced and new horsemen and stock users are invited to meet park packers and learn about backcountry travel in the Olympic Wilderness at the park’s annual Barn Day event at the Elwha Barn on Saturday, April 12 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

The event features workshops on packing, trail equipment, Leave-No-Trace and trail etiquette.

Participants are asked not to bring personal stock animals.

The Elwha Barn is located on Whiskey Bend Road off of Olympic Hot Springs Road, about seven miles west of Port Angeles.
