The Quality Inn and Suites in Sequim remains one of only three hotels in Washington to win and retain the ENERGY STAR(r) award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The hotel’s energy performance rates in the top 25 percent of facilities nationwide and recently was awarded again for 2010.

Chloe Fagg, general manager of the Quality Inn, said the award demonstrates staff’s continued commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable tourism. Staff worked with Mattias Järvegren, utility services advisor for Clallam County PUD, to focus on high value energy saving projects over the past three years.

"We look forward to continuing to work closely with Mattias and ENERGY STAR(r) on conservation and we will work hard to serve as an example for other mid-priced hotels to follow," said Bret Wirta, CEO of Wirta Hospitality Worldwide and hotel owner.
