The League of Women Voters’ “The Story of Water” lecture series continues next week with “Water Law in Washington: Who Owns the Water and What Are Our Rights,” set for 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, in the council chambers at the Sequim Civic Center, 152 W. Cedar St.

The event was rescheduled from its original Jan. 15 fate because of inclement weather.

Presenters for this, the fourth in the lecture series, are Mike Gallagher, hydrogeologist and manager of the Southwest Region for the Washington Department of Ecology-Water Resources, and Lindsey Schromen-Wawrin, an attorney with Shearwater Law PLLC and Port Angeles city councilor.

They lead a discussion about the complex and conflict-ridden legalities of managing water in the western United States.

Attendees are welcome to ask pertinent questions following the lecture.

Following the lecture, the “Story of Water” introductory film will be shown for those wishing to stay. “From Source to Sea: Dungeness Watershed” is a 20-minute film highlighting the beauty and dynamics of the Dungeness Watershed and the challenges for the community; questions will be welcomed.
