Clallam County Fire District 3 reported to 175 calls for service from June 21-28. Staff report that they’re seeing an increase in smoke investigation calls, which typically turn out to be individuals burning in their yards. Starting July 1 there is a county-wide burn restriction that applies to all outdoor burning except recreational fires used for pleasure, religious, ceremonial, warmth, cooking, or similar purposes. This ban also applies to any use of propane “weed burners.”
