From April 26-May 3, Clallam County Fire District responded to 189 calls for service.

Staff report that nearly all of those calls were for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) dispatches.

“The simple act of walking can greatly improve health and lifespan,” CCFD3 staff said. “Thirty minutes of brisk walking per day has numerous health benefits, including improved cardiovascular health, weight management, stronger bones and muscles, and enhanced mental well-being.

“It can also help manage conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure, and reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke.”
