Robin Hill Farm County Park reopens after 3-month closure

Three months after a storm blew down dozens of trees and triggered its closure, Robin Hill Farm County Park reopened to users last week.

The storm in late November 2022 left the park trail system “unsafe and largely impassible,” noted R. Donald Crawford, director of Clallam County’s Parks, Fair & Facilities Department, in a press release last week.

During the closure, only a portion of the downed trees were marketable, and the remaining trees were used for county park cordwood, were hauled off by volunteers from the Port Angeles Kiwanis Club or left on the ground, Crawford said.

Now that RHF park will reopen, trail restoration will continue throughout the summer and fall of 2023 and conclude by winter 2024, county staff said.

A volunteer tree planting is planned for late October 2023. For more information, including how to volunteer, contact the county parks department at 360-417-2291 or web_parks@clallamcountywa.gov.
