Born and raised in Sequim, Taylor Gahr says she’s not sure what she wants to do after high school.

With a 4.0 grade-point average since sixth grade, Gahr likely will have many paths to choose from. The Sequim Sunrise Rotary recently selected the eighth-grade student as middle school Student of the Month for January.

Gahr says she enjoys yearbook, language arts and math classes. Outside of class, she says, “I enjoy doing most anything with my friends and family — being with my family and friends just makes me happy.”

That includes speedboat racing, an activity in which her whole family participates.

As for her future, Gahr says she’s undecided.

“I like to help people, cook and I love photography. I am unsure if I want to pursue any of these things after high school because I am always changing my mind.”

Gahr is the daughter of Paul and Tina Gahr, of Sequim. She has an older brother, Joshua.
