SARC board seeks to fill vacancy

The Board of Commissioners of Clallam County Park & Recreation District #1 is accepting applications to fill a vacant position on the board.

The junior taxing district is the governing board for the facility generally known as SARC. Formerly the Sequim Aquatic Recreation Center, the facility continues to be owned by the citizens of the district, and is leased for operation and maintenance to the Olympic Peninsula YMCA.

The vacancy is created by the resignation of commissioner Kate Henninger, who has accepted a position as an aquatics coordinator at the Peninsula Family YMCA in San Mateo, Calif.

This is a two-year term which expires in December 2019.

Applicants must be registered to vote and must reside within the portion of the Sequim School District boundaries included within Clallam County. The board meets quarterly and may also meet in special session from time to time.

Interested persons should submit a written statement indicating their interest in the position as well as their background and relevant experience.

Applications may be submitted in writing to: Chair, Board of Commissioners, Sequim YMCA, 610 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim WA 98382; or by email to the board clerk at clerksarc@gmail.com.

The deadline for submission is Oct. 5.

Applications will be reviewed, and selected candidates will be interviewed by the Board of Commissioners at the quarterly regular meeting of the Board on Oct. 10.
