Scenes from the season: Sequim counts down to Christmas

With just a week left until Santa’s big night, the excitement of the season can be seen all around Sequim — from visits with Santa, to holiday bazaars, to family wreath-making tutorials, to shopping for loved ones on holiday lists.

Sixteen local businesses have enhanced the holiday shopping experience by participating in the “Elk on a Shelf” game by hiding an elk figure in their displays. Kids age 15 and younger are invited to play by filling out a game card and turning it in to Sweet Spot Frozen Yogurt, 609 W. Washington St., for a sweet treat.

As the clock ticks down to Christmas, there are still some holiday-related events and activities to enjoy.

The Sequim Farmers & Artisans Market’s Holiday Market, featuring seasonal items, will take place Saturday, Dec. 20 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sequim Civic Center.

The Rainshadow Artisans Holiday Fair will also take place on Saturday, Dec. 20 — from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. — at Dungeness River Nature Center, 1943 W. Hendrickson Road in Sequim.

On Sunday, Dec. 21 the Sequim City Band will present “Festive Flourishes” from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Port Angeles High School Performing Arts Center, 304 E. Park Ave. in Port Angeles. The concert is free.
