Sequim trio earn master’s degrees
Three Sequim residents earned Master of Education degrees in creative arts from Lesley University in May. They are: Stephanie Clark, Jennifer Lopez and Frances Rice.
Also earning Master of Education degrees in creative arts were Port Angeles residents Leah Bauman, Carrie Davis, Laura Eyestone, Cathaline Green, Brooke Hendry, Evan Murphy and Tami Schmitt.
Lesley University is based in Cambridge, Mass., and offers classes online and at 150 locations in 23 states.
Hendrickson, Robinson earn degrees at Seattle Pacific
Taria Hendrickson and David Robinson, both of Sequim, recently graduated with degrees from
Seattle Pacific University.
Hendrickson graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology.
Robinson graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in communication.
Sequim quartet earn EWU degrees
Four students from Sequim recently graduated from Eastern Washington University in Cheney. They are: Lucas Apple, a Bachelor of Arts degree in recreation management; Katelyn Apple, a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology; Brandon Fuellas, a Bachelor of Science degree in biology; and Peter Lemley, a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication studies.
First Teacher hosts parent, reading times
First Teacher, located in Room 4W at Sequim Community School (220 W. Alder St.), is home to several programs this summer.
Join other parents and children for Reading Time at 10 a.m. each Monday. The next guest reader is Darcie Clawson on July 26. Each child receives a book. Monday’s Parent Time includes kid crafts (July 23) and sack snack time (July 30). For more information, call 582-3428.
Library hosts events for youths
The Sequim Library (630 N. Sequim Ave.) hosts a number of fun events for youths this month, starting at 10:30 a.m. each Wednesday.
Magician Jeff Evans visits the library on July 21.
The Zambini brothers, puppeteers with creatures of all shapes and sizes, visit on July 28. For more information, call 683-1162.
Sequim band, flag team host car washes
Sequim High School band and flag team is having two more car washes this summer to raise money for upcoming trips. The car wash dates are July 31 and Aug. 21.
All car washes from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. near Tarcisio’s Italian Place, 609 W. Washington Street.
ASSE exchange program seeks host families
The ASSE international student exchange program seeks host families for boys and girls from a variety of countries across the globe. Students are 15-18 years old. They are a set of academically select students and speak English. ASSE students are fully insured and bring their own personal spending money. Youth for Understanding seeks exchange families
