Kindergarten opens

Parents: remember to register your fall kindergarten student. Sequim School District officials are looking to sign up children who will be 5 years old on/before Aug. 31. They are eligible to start school in September.

For registering your child for kindergarten, you will need to bring: original birth certificate or passport; immunization records; proof of residency – something showing your physical address (lease, PUD bill, etc.)

Final band concert set for June 8

The Sequim High School Band hosts its year-end concert at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, at the Performing Arts Building, 533 N.

Sequim Ave. Concert, wind ensemble, percussion and jazz bands will perform, as well as the flag team. Graduating seniors will be honored. The concert is free and open to the public.

School preps students for 21st century

A free video and lecture presentation about The Possibility Institute, a new, multi-age "Alternative Green Democratic Education Center," is scheduled for 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, at Five Acre School, 515 Lotzgesell Road.

The education center is available for students in grades 7 and up. Teachers, parents and students are encouraged to attend.
