The day before, teachers and staff across the district made finishing touches in their classrooms, such as in Helen Haller Elementary’s second grade pod. Life Skills special education teachers Tiffany Malean and Kerry Ladd prep on Tuesday for their students the following day. They’ll work with students in kindergarten through second grade. “I’m so excited,” Malean said. “I’ve been home on maternity leave so I’m excited to be around adults.” Sequim Gazette photo by Matthew Nash
