Eight Sequim High School seniors were awarded scholarships by the Sequim Elks Lodge No. 2642, in the amount of $8,000, at their regular meeting on May 14.
The students were given $1,000 to be used at the college or university of their choice for the 2014-2015 school year.
They incude Devyn Turner, Katherine Harker, Melissa Lewis and Joseph Landoni, Vanessa Martinez, Allison Masangkay, Carlo Juntilla and Teresa Lopez Cisneros.
Turner will be attending the University of Idaho and majoring in chemical engineering.
Harker will attend Seton Hall in New Jersey majoring in physical therapy.
Lewis is attending Peninsula College pursuing a major in dental hygiene.
Landoni will attend Willamette University with a major in politics.
Martinez is attending Boise State with a major in either biology or dentistry.
Masangkay will attend the University of Washington with a major in business administration.
Juntilla is attending Gonzaga University majoring in pre-medicine.
Lopez Cisneros will attend Peninsula College with a major in nursing.
