School, SARC board candidates to debate Monday

Sequim Gazette staff

Sequim Family Advocates hosts two candidate forums at the Sequim unit of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula, 400 W. Fir St., on consecutive Mondays, Sept. 12 and Sept. 19.

The Sept. 12 forum features candidates for open positions on the Sequim School Board as well as candidates for the Clallam County Parks and Recreation District board.

The Sept. 19 forum features the candidates for the open Clallam County Commissioner District 1 position, as well as the candidates running for the open Sequim City Council positions.

Both forums are scheduled for 6:30-8 p.m.

According to event organizers, the purpose of these forums is to provide candidates an opportunity to express their understanding of issues affecting families and young people in the area and to present ideas they have for change should they be elected.

Candidates will be given the opportunity to introduce themselves and answer audience-submitted questions posed to them by a moderator.

The public is encouraged to attend.
