H1N1 shots, child ID kits
The First Teacher program offers swine flu shots and ID-A-Kid kits this month in Room 4W at the Sequim Community School, 220 W. Alder St.
From 10:30 a.m.-noon on Friday, Jan. 15, the Sequim Police Department and Sequim Masonic Lodge are sponsoring ID-A-Kid.
Volunteers from the Sequim Police Department assist parents with starting an ID kit for their children. Parents receive a new and updated kit including video, teeth impressions and fingerprinting. This kit works for several years because parents can update the information. The information is crucial for parents to have should their children be involved in an emergency situation, program coordinators say.

On Jan. 22, the program offers free H1N1 shots beginning at 9:30 a.m. Shot administrators need to know ahead of time the exact ages of children who are receiving shots. Shots also are available for parents and other adults. Call 582-3428, 681-2250 or e-mail to: mdashiell@sequim.k12.wa.us.
Free H1N1 shots also are available from 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. today, Wednesday, Jan. 13; Tuesday, Jan. 19; and Wednesday, Jan. 20 at the Clallam County Courthouse’s immunization clinic in Port Angeles.

Western Washington University offers a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in environmental studies through Peninsula College.
An information session about the courses is at noon Tuesday, Jan. 26, in the P Building at the college campus, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles.
