Scouts, club set chili cookoff fundraiser

Boy Scout Troop 90 and the Boys & Girls Club are hosting a Community Chili Cookoff from noon-3 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, at the Sequim Boys & Girls Club, 400 W. Fir St.

Seven nonprofits will be making chili and competing for top honors and a portion of the profits. Every organization will get a portion of the proceeds, but the first place winner gets a $500 prize, the second a $300 prize and third a $100 prize donation.

Participating organizations include Boy Scout Troop 90, Captain Joseph House, Clallam County Jr. Livestock Association, Habitat for Humanity of Clallam County, Peninsula Dispute Resolution Center, Sequim Boys & Girls Club and Sequim Food Bank.

Pre-sale tickets are available for a suggested donation of $15 at Dungeness Kids Co. (163 W. Washington St.) through Friday, April 19, or through the Venmo account @SequimTroop90. Tickets are also available at the event for a suggested donation of $18. Each ticket gets a total of five tasting tickets, and also a bowl of chili with bread and a drink. Additional tasting tickets can be purchased at the event.

In addition to chili, the Boy Scouts we will be having a bake sale and dessert auction, as well as a silent auction.
