Sept. 6 candidate forum to feature three county races

The Elwha Klallam Tribe announces that it will sponsor a candidate forum at the Elwha Heritage Center, 401 E. First St., Port Angeles, beginning at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6. Candidates for three Clallam County offices have been invited to participate.

The Elwha Klallam Tribe announces that it will sponsor a candidate forum at the Elwha Heritage Center, 401 E. First St., Port Angeles, beginning at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6. Candidates for three Clallam County offices have been invited to participate.

The forum is open to the public and will be moderated by Bertha Cooper of Sequim, a featured columnist of the Sequim Gazette.

Members of the audience will be invited to asked questions of the candidates.

The candidates will present as follows:

2:30 p.m. – Sheila Roark Miller and Mary Ellen Winborn, candidates for Director of Community Development.

3:30 p.m. – Judge Rick Porter and Cathy Marshall, candidates for District 1 Court.

4:30 p.m. – William Payne and Mark Nichols, candidates for County Prosecutor.

5:30 p.m. – Reception with light refreshments.

The public will have the opportunity to meet and speak with the candidates during the reception.
