Sequim-area house fire sends one resident to hospital

A resident pulled from a home fire by Sequim Police was transported to Olympic Medical Center for evaluation in a morning house fire in Sequim on Oct. 28.

Clallam County Fire District 3 representatives report that crews arrived at a residential fire at Salal Place shortly after 8 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28. Sequim Police were on the scene and had pulled a resident out of the home.

“Crews pulled pre-connected hose lines, made an offensive fire attack, and extinguished the fire containing it to the room of origin,” the fire district noted in a press release.

After the fire was knocked down, crews checked to confirm the fire hadn’t spread into the attic.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Four fire units, a battalion chief and Olympic Ambulance responded to the incident, with 13 firefighters and two EMS personnel on scene.
