Sequim Avenue roundabout work to begin Feb. 5

Work crews will move into the roundabout at Sequim Avenue, Old Olympic Highway and Port Williams beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5.

The work, part of the North Sequim Avenue Sidewalk and Bike Lanes project, will be performed between 7 a.m.-6 p.m. weekdays.

Residents can expect delays, localized closures, and detours during work hours and are encouraged to use alternate routes, where available, City of Sequim officials said.

Resident access will be provided, although residents are asked to heed flaggers, cones, construction signage and to be aware of large construction equipment and trucks and their backup alarms.

Emergency vehicle access will be provided at all times and emergency vehicles will be allowed to drive through the work zone during an emergency.

The overall project, which involves construction on North Sequim Avenue, Old Olympic Highway, Sequim-Dungeness Way and Port Williams Road, is scheduled for completion in June.

The work is being performed by Interwest Construction and its subcontractors.
