Sequim Community Aid sets up donation sites

Sequim Community Aid, the 501(c)3 nonprofit agency that helps those in need with electricity, housing rent/mortgage and/or water during emergencies, has set up two trees for donations for its Toys For Sequim Kids event.

Sequim Community Aid, the 501(c)3 nonprofit agency that helps those in need with electricity, housing rent/mortgage and/or water during emergencies, has set up two trees for donations for its Toys For Sequim Kids event.

Requests for specific toys can be picked up and dropped off at Sequim QFC, 990 E. Washington St., and warm goods like socks, hats, gloves, pajamas and more can be dropped off at Sequim Rite Aid, 520 W. Washington St. Clallam County Fire District 3, 323 N. Fifth Ave., accepts donations for both types of goods while all goods are accepted through Dec. 18.

Goods will be distributed at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 Blake Ave. from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, at the annual Toys for Sequim Kids event. Items are for babies through eighth grade and participants must show proof you live in Sequim School District along with showing a picture ID.

Boy Scouts with Troop 1103 host a blanket drive 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Sequim Grocery Outlet, 1045 W. Washington St., Saturday, Dec. 6.

Blue Sky Realty and other participating Realtors collect throws and blankets through Dec. 18 as well.

Call Sequim Community Aid at 681-3731 for assistance and mail donations to Sequim Community Aid, PO Box 1591, Sequim, WA 98382. Mark donations for “toys” as such and leave it blank for general year-round assistance.
