Sequim grads ‘Flip or Flop Vegas’ returns for season 3

Update: “Flip or Flop Vegas” premeires at 9 p.m. Thursday, March 21, and continues weekly for its season.

Sequim grad Bristol Marunde and his wife Aubrey remain fixtures on your television set once again starting March 21.

The couple’s “Flip or Flop Vegas” returns for a third season on the HGTV network that night with two episodes at 9 and 9:30 p.m.

In September, the network announced the couple’s show was renewed for 10 episodes where the Marundes take rundown homes in Las Vegas and renovate them in a spectacular fashion following Vegas’ style.

“Flip or Flop Vegas” was the first spin-off from the popular show “Flip or Flop.”

Bristol spent his middle and high school years in Sequim and graduated from Sequim High School in 2000. Before the show started, he became a professional mixed martial artist and competed on the TV show “The Ultimate Fighter.”

He’s a licensed contractor that works with his wife Aubrey, a real estate broker. They met at a UFC fight in Las Vegas, which led to a coffee date, marriage, two boys — Kale and Kane —and their real estate company Alter Luxury.

Through Instagram, television producers saw Bristol’s house renovations, which led to the couple’s HGTV debut in July 2016 under the title “High Stakes Flippers.” It went on to become “Flip or Flop Vegas.”

In previous interviews, the couple said they aim for an authentic feel on the show by sharing more of the design and construction process.

While the show may seem like a home is done in 30 minutes or less, the Marundes said they have about three or four homes being renovated at a time.

For each home, Aubrey leads designs and Bristol works on demolition and construction.

One of the many unique aspects of the show is how the couple is able to obtain unique materials because of their proximity to Las Vegas’ casinos and nightclubs.

A few times a year, the Marundes travel to Sequim where they’ve kept a home since 2012 to visit family. Bristol also continues to promote mixed martial arts fights at Clearwater Casino Resort in Suquamish.
