Sequim High FBLA sends 15 to state

Katlyn Edwards places third in computer applications

Sequim High students put on their business smiles for the Future Business Leaders of America Washington State Leadership Conference in Yakima.

Senior Katlyn Edwards placed third in computer applications during the April 7-10 conference.

She was one of 15 Sequim students to participate.

"Although the competition is the main focus, the conference is really a culmination of the year for members," said Christy Ditlefsen,

Sequim FBLA adviser.

"Workshops, tours and campaigning for state officer meetings are a huge part of the conference."

Students participated in several workshops including "Teens and Money," "Autograph Your Work with Excellence" and "Developing the Professional You."

During off time, the group toured the Capital Theatre, Yakima County Courthouse and Yakima Police Department.

"Members were professional and represented Sequim High School with pride," Ditlefsen said.
