Sequim makes Halloween a treat for goblins and ghouls

The treats came by the bucket-load over Halloween weekend in Sequim.

More than a dozen local venues held trunk-or-treats, drive-throughs, costume contests and more on Oct. 30 and Oct. 31.

Staff at the Oak Table Café donned costumes on Sunday, while a few churches opened their parking lots for fun, and the Olympic Peninsula Rat Racers filled the Sequim Village Shopping Center with dozens of cool vehicles.

Plenty of families coordinated on their attire, such as Tom and Liz Duval with their 2-year-old Adele going as Mario Kart characters. The couple said they’ve played a lot of the video game during the COVID-19 pandemic, and that while Adele may not play, she watches and definitely has a preference for her favorite race tracks.

For locals who didn’t get enough pumpkins over the weekend, they can continue to guess the weight of giant pumpkins grown by Sequim’s Ross Osborn through Nov. 11 at JACE Real Estate, 761 N. Sequim Ave. For contest information, call 360-565-2028 or visit facebook.com/alwayscalljace.
