Sequim Safeway, 680 W. Washington St., closed for about three hours on Friday, June 3, following a report of a small electrical fire.

Dan Orr, assistant chief with Clallam County Fire District 3, said fire crews arrived at about 9:13 a.m. and worked for about two hours to identify the cause of smoke in the front of the store.

Fire crews spent about two hours isolating the circuit for a fan by the lottery ticket machines, which had smoke coming out of a vent, Orr said.

The store’s management closed the store until about 12:30 p.m.

Orr said there was no damage, just smoke and possibly some odor.
