Sequim schools back in session starting Aug. 30

Welcome back, Sequim students.

Regular classes in the Sequim School District began today, Wednesday, Aug. 30, at Greywolf and Helen Haller Elementary schools, Olympic Peninsula Academy, Sequim Middle School and Sequim High School.

Some upperclassmen as part of Link Crew helped freshmen get a jump-start on high school on Tuesday with orientation. Students walked the grounds, met classmates and participated in activities and games as a way to reduce stress and anxiety before starting school.

Teachers also met for final arrangements on the school year and readied their classrooms the day before, too.

Private schools Mountain View Christian School started on Aug. 21 while Five Acre School starts on Sept. 6.
