Sequim third-graders use green thumbs in forestry field trip

Students from eight Helen Haller Elementary third grade classrooms trekked up Fish Hatchery Road, southwest of Sequim, on March 29 to participate in an annual event to plant trees and learn about how foresters manage trees and replenish the area.

Students, parent/guardian volunteers, and staff planted hundreds of red cedar trees in a large clearing atop an area owned by Merrill & Ring.
