A Sequim woman was injured and transported to Olympic Medical Center on Feb. 12 after her vehicle collided with a load of siding that fell from a truck on U.S. Highway 101 near Morse Creek, about three miles east of Port Angeles.
According to a Washington State Patrol report, Wendy B. Schultz, 53, of Sequim, was traveling eastbound on the highway when the securing strap for a load of siding on the flatbed of a 1991 Chevrolet truck driven by Julian V. Lamarche, 35, of Port Angeles, broke, sending the siding onto the roadway. Schultz’s vehicle, a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta, struck the debris.
Lamarche was charged with having an unsecured load, according the the state patrol report.
