Sequim’s murals displayed again for Fourth of July

Historical murals depicting life in Sequim at the turn of the last century return to public display for the City of Sequim’s Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Picnic at the Water Reuse Demonstration Park next to Carrie Blake Park, and again on July 5 at “The Street Dance of the Century” in downtown Sequim on Sequim Avenue.

Originally installed on the Lehman’s Grocery storefront from 1995-2000, the murals have been in storage since they were removed.

The Olympic View Community Foundation, formerly the Sequim Community Foundation, holds the title to these murals and recently created a float/exhibit with four major sections which went on display the opening weekend of Irrigation Festival and again in the Irrigation Festival Parade on Mother’s Day.

Stop by the exhibit over the Fourth of July and visit with volunteers from the foundation board to learn more about plans to create permanent public art installations for the murals in the downtown core.
