Many shepherds, fiber arts enthusiasts and curious minds spent part of their Memorial Day at the annual Shepherd’s Festival held at the Sequim Prairie Grange.

Ongoing for about 30 years, the festival has become a tradition, Cyndie Stumbaugh, festival coordinator and co-leader of the Lambchops 4-H club, said. The event is aimed at educating the public about sheep, fiber arts and their many uses.

The day included sheep shearing and herding demonstrations, lamb-inspired food, a petting zoo and many vendors both selling and demonstrating how to make a variety of fiber art products.

The annual event is sponsored by the Olympic Peninsula Fiber Growers Association and the North Olympic Shuttle and Spindle Guild.
