Shred event fundraiser set for Saturday

A shred event with social distancing this week looks to raise funds for some local nonprofits.

Soroptimist International of Sequim, with support from Kitsap Bank, hosts a paper shredding event from 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday, June 27, at Kitsap Bank, 1320 W. Washington St.

There is no charge for document shredding but attendees are encouraged to donate generously, Soroptimist representatives say.

Funds raised go to Healthy Families of Clallam County, St. Vincent de Paul Society and First Step Family Support Center.

Event attendees are directed to take the west exit of the River Road traffic circle (do not enter via the Walmart parking lot) and follow signs and directions from shred event organizers.

The limit is 75 pounds, or about four grocery bags full of papers.
