Spotlight on Family Planning

Editor’s note: Today the Sequim Gazette continues its weekly spotlight on member agencies of United Way of Clallam County. The series will continue through the umbrella charity’s current campaign.

Mission statement: Family Planning of Clallam County’s mission is to assure that all individuals in Clallam County have access to quality health care, education and social services relating to human sexuality and fertility.

Service area: All of Clallam County, with clinics in Forks, Sequim and Port Angeles. Mobile mammography clinics serve Neah Bay, Clallam Bay, Lower Elwha and Discovery Bay.

People served: In 2008, FPCC served 3,258 clients with a combined total of 5,494 medical visits, 75 percent of which were provided on a sliding fee scale. Additionally, 275 mammograms were offered or facilitated in

2008, 86 of which occurred during mobile mammography clinics.

Annual budget/United Way funding: The annual budget in 2009 is $1.3 million with approximately 2 percent coming from the United Way.
