By the afternoon of Friday, May 21, Sequim High School teachers were into the downhill run on National Bike to Work Day, held the third Friday in May.
Many of the 15 teachers who participated said they ride to school daily anyway.
Science teacher Laura Gould said she rode from Blyn for the event.
“It’s the 10th time I’ve done it this year,†Gould said.
This was her third time making the trip in a week.
She said riding her bike saved about two gallons of gas.
Sequim High School’s transition specialist and Bike to Work organizer Wendy Turner said next year she hopes to make the event districtwide and include the city of Sequim and other residents.
