State parks, rec group goes ‘Twittering’

The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission launched its first Twitter account. It features state park winter recreation notifications.

The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission launched its first Twitter account. It features state park winter recreation notifications.

Twitter, a social media site, enables program staff to send immediate notifications about Sno-Park closures or openings, grooming trail updates or other pertinent Sno-Park information directly to the public. Followers can choose to have winter recreation tweets sent to their mobile devices in addition to their Twitter account feed.

Notifications can be viewed at www.twitter.com/WaStatePks_WNTR.

To follow the announcements, Twitter users must log in before selecting the "follow" option on the WaStatePks_WNTR Twitter page. After following the account, users can select the mobile device delivery option in the following settings.
