State Patrol seeks more witnesses for Nov. 29 wreck

Trooper involved in collision

The Washington State Patrol’s Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating a Nov. 29 collision that involved on-duty patrol officer Travis D. Beebe.

The three-vehicle wreck occurred at 4:36 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, on U.S. Highway 101 east of Port Angeles. Detectives are seeking witnesses that may have seen any events leading to or the actual crash. If you have any information or know someone who does, call Detective Sgt. Jerry Cooper at 360-805-1192.

According to a state patrol report, Beebe was driving a full-marked state patrol car westbound on Highway 101 near Morse Creek when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck two vehicles traveling eastbound.

Beebe was injured and transported to Olympic Medical Center.

The first car struck, a 2009 Honda CRV, was totaled. The driver and 9-year-old boy in that vehicle were injured, treated at the scene and released — four others in the same vehicle were not injured.

The driver and two passengers in the second vehicle struck, a 2011 Toyota Tundra, were not injured. The vehicle was damaged but not totaled.

Beebe’s state patrol car, a 2011 Ford Crown Victoria, was totaled.
