Sunbonnet Sue Quilt Club’s Community Quilt program presented two quilts on Aug. 12 to the Sequim Valley Car Club and the Trey Green Guild for their charitable causes.

The Sequim Valley Car Club hosts the Veteran Motor Car Club of America’s 34th Chrome Glidden Car Tour Sept. 13-18 and plans to hold a drawing at its banquet on Sept. 18 at the Sequim Elks Lodge to benefit scholarships for local automotive students.

DiAnne McIntosh, with the quilt club, coordinated the creation and donation of the quilt, which was made by Ilse Osier. The car show is open to the public 1-4 p.m. Sept. 18 at Sequim Quality Inn and Suites.

The second quilt made by various quilters goes to auction at the 10th Trey Green Guild’s wine gala on Sept. 19 to benefit uncompensated care for patients at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Both its wine gala and its sixth annual golf tournament are held on Sept. 18 at The Cedars at Dungeness. Founder Erin Green said the foundation has raised more than $500,000 so far for uncompensated care.
